Although he died in 1977, Elvis Presley still lives with his legions of fans as "The King of Rock and Roll". Presley was the first American real rock star and was one of the country's most popular artists in the middle and second half of the 20th century, can be replaced by Frank Sinatra. Presley sings the blues mixed with elements of gospel and country music, which led to his nickname "The Hillbilly Cat." Elvis was born on 8 January 1935, in East Tupelo, Mississippi. He was the son of Vernon and Gladys Presley an operator of the sewing machine and a truck driver. Presley's twin brother, Jesse Garon was stillborn, and Elvis grew up as an only child. Presley cut his first recordings - the songs "My Happiness" and "That's When Your Heartaches Begin the" - in 1953 at Memphis Recording Studios a record producer Sam Phillips began his Booster Sun Studios Records, where anyone could make a record of ten inches by four dollars. After several songs he has recorded more than Phillips, producer, said he found what he wanted "a white man with the sound and feel Black Black". After signing with RCA in 1956 and the recording of "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis has become a national star. On 28 January 1956, television program debuted on Dorsey Brothers, followed by six consecutive games. In March, Colonial Thomas Parker became Elvis' manager. Received 25% profit from Elvis through a contract that took the life of singer and beyond.
In the 1960s, Elvis had become a pop culture icon. He traveled and played songs old and new samples on the way to Las Vegas, where he was known for its splendor and entertainment dress very electric. He began breaking records of all kinds of entertainment, including assistance concerts, television ratings and sales records, becoming one of the best selling artists in the history of music. Elvis continued acting until his death at the age of 42 years from a combination of obesity, depression and abuse of prescription drugs. Although Elvis has left three decades, his popularity has remained intact. Thousands make a pilgrimage to Graceland every year to pay tribute to king modern rock.
