Why the Japanese press its advantage after the bombing of Pearl Harbor?
Why continue to attack Hawaii and the West Coast after that?
They did. Immediately after Pearl Harbor, occupied Wake Island, Guam, invaded the Philippines, and spread to Thailand, Burma, Singapore and the resource-rich islands of Indonesia. It was a busy month. No invaded Hawaii, for two reasons. First, they were expecting their first air strike to be a great success. Remember, when such a thing had never been done before. But most importantly, do not deal with Hawaii, because they would not. Japan is a natural resource hungry countries, aggravated by the U.S. embargo has caused. They need access to things like oil, rubber, iron ore and to support its military intentions. Hawaii had none of these things. All Hawaii had a naval base that could be used to prevent the collection of raw materials needed in other parts of the Pacific. It was not the occupation, I just needed to be neutralized.
