Desperately seeking information on the Northern Circuit Soul! Help please!?
I am a big fan of Northern Soul and have a large collection of both vinyl and CD. Many years ago, an acquaintance gave me a cassette compilation of great tracks, but the group disappeared for years. There were a couple of tracks emphasize here that I like to have in his hands again, but do not have the name of the song or artist, I only fragments of words that have been floating around my head for 20 years! Can we identify one (or both) of the following tracks: The first was a poem like "Hey doll, I really moves with the movement of your big eyes wide and wild "(or something). has played in many clubs mid-80s mod and have been a white group. The other was more traditional black soul, it could be a singer, and contained the words "Love is nothing more than a monkey on my back." Someone has to recognize these tracks! By Please help me! Mod (Subculture) $92.4 Mod (originally modernist, sometimes capitalised) is a subculture that originated in London, England in the late 1950s and peaked in the early to mid 1960s. Significant elements of the mod subculture include: fashion (often tailormade suits); pop music, including African American soul, Jamaican ska, and British beat music and RB; and Italian motor scooters. The original mod scene was also associated with amphetaminefuelled allnight dancing at clubs.
