You define the Tamla Motown / Motown as a musical style or was it just a label?
Launched in 1959, Berry Gordy Jnr should several years to establish a unique sound Motown. Most of the 45 laps of the UK Motown Singles conducted between 1959 and 1964, were broadcast in London and U.S., Oriel, Fontana and record label in America. The first version of Tamla Motown UK released in 1964 as a subsidiary of the EMI record label. As a lover of the music of many years, I must say that Motown is both a style of music and a record of the formula label.With Made circa 1963/1964 and the golden age of production labels that are up to the mid 1970s, the "golden age" should be from 1964 to 1970.It was a unique style of writing, production, artists and almost all Gordy Jr. touched turned to gold. I Motown singles issued between 1959 and mid / late 80s in my collection. One great thing Motown introduced in the UK is that artists black had his own label. With the advent of the UK Offshore pirate radio and broadcasting pioneer, as Tony Blackburn playing Motown Records on Radio London was infallible success story for most of Motown Records.
