Turntable advice.....faulty pitch control?

Hi. I was DJ'ing at a party the other week and despite constant threats of violence and death, someone managed to spill a drink on my Technics 1210 Mark 3 turntable. Possibly orange juice. It works okay, but the pitch control is buggered. I've taken it apart before, so thats fine, but I need some advice on how best to clean it to try to make the situation better. Any help would be welcome.

Ispropyl alcohol is a harmless electronic cleaning agent. Try to avoid getting it on any plastic though (although I've personally never had it cause a problem).

You can usually get it in an aerosol form from the shops like Maplin etc. Their part number for a small aerosol is RE79L and its priced at £7.29.

You wont need much, so the bottle will last a while. Its also good for cleaning crackly volume controls on any audio product (as opposed to WD40 which should NEVER be used on electronic equipment).

If the control wont come good, they are not that expensive to replace. Send me an email with the full model number of your deck, and I'll get you the full part number and where to get it from.
